About River TCG and our methodology

River TCG is an independent database and meta tracker for the One Piece Card Game: every printed version of every card, market prices, tournament results, a leader ranking, a deck builder and official news. This page explains where the data comes from, how we process it and where its limits are.

What you'll find

  • Cards and prices: every printed version in each language we track, with illustrator credits and prices from TCGplayer and Cardmarket.
  • Meta and tier list: leaders ranked by tournament points, with win rates, matchups and the most played list with every card’s price.
  • Tournaments: results, standings and decklists from official and community events.
  • Deck builder: build lists from the full card catalogue.
  • News: official announcements, rewritten in full.

Where the data comes from

Everything here comes from public sources, collected by our own scripts, cross-checked against each other and stored in our database, which is the only place the site reads from.

Card catalogue

Each printed version keeps its official Bandai code, such as OP01-001. Texts and images come from the official card lists in English, French, Japanese and Chinese, completed by DotGG and TCGplayer's catalogue; Limitless TCG supplies illustrator credits.

Versions are matched across languages by artwork, using image fingerprints rather than codes, and doubtful matches are reviewed by a person. Store and event versions, such as pre-release stamps or judge promos, appear on no official list and are added from TCGplayer. In October 2026 the catalogue holds over 2,800 cards in more than 7,300 printed versions.

Prices

Prices are linked by each marketplace's product ID, never by card code. The right Cardmarket product is chosen by cross-checking DotGG, Limitless TCG's links and a price comparison with TCGplayer; when the evidence is unclear, the version gets no euro price rather than a wrong one.

  • US dollars: TCGplayer's market price, calculated from recent sales and read from TCGCSV. For versions sold as several products, we take the cheapest from their own set.
  • Euros: from Cardmarket's public price guide, the median of the price trend and the one-day and seven-day sales averages, so a single odd sale or spike is discarded. We never use the lowest listing.
  • Exchange rates: European Central Bank reference rates.

Tournaments

Official events come from Limitless TCG (standings, decklists and leader statistics for major tournaments) and from Egman Events, which covers the official events Limitless has not published since late July 2026. Events listed by both are merged using identical decklists, links or city, type and date.

Community events, online and in stores, come from Limitless Play and Egman. Limitless Play records the winner of every game, so win rates and matchups come from real results, excluding mirror matches and byes.

Meta ranking and points

The tier list ranks leaders by points for top-cut placements, which grow with event size. We use Limitless TCG's own success points, and apply the same formula, rebuilt and checked against its results, to Egman events.

At an in-person event of up to 128 players, first place earns 15 points, second 12, top 4 9, top 8 6 and top 16 3; each larger size band (129–226, 227–399, 400–799 and 800+ players) adds 3 to every placement. Online events and finals use their own tables.

Community events use the same scale but are ranked separately, and a community event that duplicates an official one scores nothing. Japanese events earn no points, as their card pool runs ahead of the English one.

News

News comes from the official One Piece Card Game websites, rewritten in full in our own words rather than summarised with a link, with the source credited at the end.

How often it updates

  • Prices: daily at 01:17 UTC, once TCGplayer and Cardmarket have published that day's data.
  • Tournaments: every six hours (00:17, 06:17, 12:17 and 18:17 UTC), with points and win rates recalculated after each run.
  • Card catalogue: when new sets and promos are released, after a review.
  • News: after each official announcement, written article by article, so it can lag behind the original.

Languages

Card data comes in English, Japanese, French and Chinese. The site runs in six languages, adding Spanish and Korean, which show English card text.

When a version exists in English, we show the English one: its Japanese, French or Chinese image is that same version in another language, not a separate card. Versions released only in another language appear as their own entries.

Limitations

  • Prices are market references based on recent sales, not offers: the price that counts is the marketplace's when you buy.
  • Some versions have no price. TCGplayer does not sell Japanese One Piece cards, so exclusives only have a dollar price when they share art with an English product, and versions without a confirmed Cardmarket product have no euro price.
  • Community events are tracked separately from official ones. They are usually much smaller, so their leaders score fewer points.
  • Third-party data can contain errors or arrive late; if you spot one, tell us.
